Cannon Hill Tavern

I'm Japanese moved to Australia last week. Coming to here is the first good memory of my life in Australia. Before came to here, I couldn't eat something good because cultural difference makes shopping difficult. But today, I could enjoy eating thanks for nice staffs and nice pizza and steak. Here is very different from restaurant in Japan, but I like so much. I want to come again.

The Tavern was a really nice experience. We came here after bounce with the family. The venue is really well kept. The food was really amazing and the customer service was just as good. The place was really clean and was great for a beer and pizza while watching the football. Highly recommended and worth checking out next time you need a local pub or somewhere to take the family for lunch or dinner.

Unfortunately we didn’t get any service at all. After a while we just ordered off the app. After a long wait the three adults meals came out first. The pizza had way too much cheese on it. Then after some time we tracked a staff member down and asked when the three kid’s meals were coming. He looked surprised and then went away but never came back to let us know what was happening. Another ten minutes later and the adults had all finished eating, then the kid’s meals arrived. The nuggets were horrible. We left very disappointed. We won’t be back.

3 of us came for lunch last Saturday at noon. Not acknowledged by staff; only when I motioned to gent behind bar if okay to sit at particular table did he give me a blank nod in the affirmative. We ordered from the bar code app at the table. No ability to add sparkling water to order and no mention of still water. There’s a water dispenser at the bar with glasses, which we used, but had to ask for a bottle of water when the waitress brought out the glass of wine … however, the glass of wine came out before the 2 cocktails. All drinks should come out together, especially in a small party of 3. The food was portioned in a sensible manner. The pumpkin salad came with crumbed chicken although I specifically chose grilled chicken . That’s really annoying. The prawn spaghetti didn’t have any chilli taste, said friend, although chilli was mentioned in the description. There was no ability to add black olives to the spaghetti so I had to go to the bar to request it (this could have been avoided if the app had it listed as an add-on). The gnocchi was very nice, said other friend. A bit more fine tuning would make this place an excellent choice for local dining. Things like a more welcoming attitude, a better food ordering app with more choice of drinks (like water), add-ons; and paying more attention to the order when preparing the meals. Overall the food was good; however 2 dishes fell short of expectations (mistake on the chicken for the salad; and no chilli flavour in the spaghetti).

We couldn’t thank you enough for the absolutely wonderful time everyone (40 to 50 I think 😄) had at The Italian Cannon Hill Tavern. 10 out of 10 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ All our guests absolutely enjoyed their delicious food, those amazing delicious sweets, your perfectly decorated venue and awesome service 100%. Not one smidgeon of negativity at all. You set the area up so beautifully. Perfect venue, delicious food and service for amazing parties. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his 60th birthday celebrations there 100% including the cost. Thank you all a million times over. 🤗🤗🤗

Wonderful ambience and customer service. The portion size is very generous and food look super pretty. I ordered the pork roll. Skin was crispy and pork juicy. Only part didn't like was the filling of italian sausage which was dry and unflavorful as seen in last picture of left over food I didn't finish. Everyone else food looked delicious. Well done. Would come again.
